An Artist Scorned
by Joanna Gilman Hyde
Remember when Eye created
The Food Mosaic
on your kitchen table
in Barrington?
You got mad at me
and I said, “You sound old –”
but you took a picture
you didn’t keep
& Eye strew your papers
along the trail
I remember, actually quite fondly. We have had a tumultuous relationship which I wish could continue. It was never dull. Forgive me for replying here but the poem did seem to be asking me to respond.
