Joanna Rocks!
Ok, wow. I was born April 6, 1962, and moved to Halifax NS with my family when I was three. I saw Sobey’s in your comment and was instantly transported down home.
Hope you find material of further interest here. Thanks for commenting.
What happened to the other 0.6 children? Stuck on the metric converter, maybe!! Hmmm! Something doesn’t add up to the whole.
I grew up in NYC, Queens to be exact. Went to Stuyvesant High, hung around by Cooper Union a lot, and swing danced on the uppermost floor at a Twin Tower – before 9/11. I like the personality in your poetry.
Thanks for the comment. Did you watch my WTC roof painting video?
I can’t find it so why don’t you send it? It’d be cool if you’d chk out my recent thoughts on the art of writing. I mention NY in my About, as well.
Self Organizing Galaxy, my WTC rooftop painting (also called “Viral Spiral”), is on my personal links with my Gravatar.
You’re very conversational in your writing.
Self Organizing Galaxy is amazing. When painting along the blue spirals, did it feel like you were creating banks along a stream there atop NYC? —–Chagall
I painted Self Organizing Galaxy as if in a dream and the only part of it I actually remember doing was when I held the mop above the edges of the spiral and sprayed and flicked multitudinous drops of paint along side it.
Thanks for visiting and stopping by my blog!
Have a blessed day

“Good Morning, World!” — well done and intense video! Peace upon you.
I looked up nova scotia today on WordPress and I’m finding all kinds of goodies! I liked the poem about psychiatric diagnosis and potato salad. It made me smile 🙂
Are you here in Nova Scotia? I like your crow paintings. I have a giant one of my own.
I am in Nova Scotia. Windsor. Technically I wasn’t born here but it’s been home to me, no matter where I’ve lived, all my life.
Nova Scotia is home to me too, and to my children — my daughter has just finished her first year at Acadia. Thanks for your comments and it would be nice to stay in touch.
I do not create a lot of comments, but i did some searching and wound up here About | joannagilmanhyde.
And I do have 2 questions for you if you do not mind. Is it only me or does it look as if like some of these remarks
appear as if they are coming from brain dead people? 😛 And, if you are writing at additional
online social sites, I’d like to keep up with everything new you have to post.
Would you make a list of every one of your community pages like your Facebook
page, twitter feed, or linkedin profile?
This blog is the only account I write on. Thank you for visiting.
do you have friends in us?
Rather than like and comment on all, a quick note to say that I think your writing from SEPT 17th, 2014 on to today, has been pretty awesome. —Chagall
Thank you very much. I will have to review it.
Hi,
I’m Tokoni, A student and poet. Its nice to meet your I’d like to invite you to my blog, http://www.insanitybeautiful.wordpress.com if you’re interested. Thanks! Â
Just viewed “Good Morning, World!” – loved it! Like Gaia herself pleading with the human race.
Also viewed your rooftop painting – I’m in awe! (My internet is very slow and kept stopping to buffer, so I could only watch parts of it, as it would allow.) Didn’t realize you were the artist of that piece of work. Prophetic indeed….
Thank you for watching both videos and your insightful comments. Had you seen Self Organizing Galaxy somewhere else?
I had heard the title – Self Organizing Galaxy – and remember seeing the painting on t.v. or newspaper – but can’t remember where or when. (But no, I hadn’t seen the video before.) After 9-11 there must’ve been something about your painting in the news, maybe included in one of the many special reports and documentaries that followed that year.
Thank you for viewing both and for your insightful comments.
I was unaware of any coverage of my painting after 9/11. Thanks for this.

Just seeing this now. Thank you very much for the invitation, but I try to keep my poetry on my blog. Still open to re-blogging, however. Thanks again.

We have actually met and had a conversation a few years back on Cape Sable Island. I wouldn’t expect you to remember.
Of course eye remember!!
Can ewe prove that you do indeed remember? 🙂
Yes. You were wearing a particular type of hat.
Will you turn 60 this year?
Yes on April 30th– Canada’s tax deadline.
Have you ever considered showcasing your art – photos of it, videos, audio, etc – on a blog?
All is well?
Spent two weeks in the Yarmouth Psych Unit after communicating with an extraterrestrial intelligence and deciding eye couldn’t stay in my house. Am fine now and back to feeling fine with my abode. Thank you so much for inquiring Chagall.
WTF JGH! There’s enough crazy shit going on in real life to keep you grounded – no? Stay with us, tethered here to Mother Earth. Your art is kicking in to a new level. Your mom’s book is getting published. Your young (still) and vibrant. Get your poopies together, girl!
