MORNING SHIFT
The Hawk Kitchen Outpost 8:43am
The Sun is hitting The Sea again
burnishing It with Silver
The Clouds have moved across
and above
as the northward horizon
calls to Me
to look
The Hawk Kitchen Outpost 8:43am
The Sun is hitting The Sea again
burnishing It with Silver
The Clouds have moved across
and above
as the northward horizon
calls to Me
to look
The Hawk Kitchen Outpost 7:09am
The Sun rises North now
over The Scrub Spruce
leaving only a glance
of Silver Water
for Me to stretch My Eye to —
but I saw It this morning
from the bathroom window upstairs
where I COULD see more water
and saw It blip to the surface
before I went back
to sleep
The Hawk Kitchen Outpost 7:45am
Eye catch a glimpse
of Silver out past the edge
of the scrub spruce forest —
I am left today
with the hangover of My Halo
effect of yesterday — all day —
when My Husband had to stay home
in the afternoon
as I taunted Him
with soiled underwear
The Hawk Kitchen Outpost 7:56am
I see The Lining
of The Silver Cloud
out My Kitchen Door
Overcast is what It’s called
but for Me
It’s Evermore
The Hawk Kitchen Outpost 8:10am
Silver streaks My Sea
calling Me to My Kitchen
as The Coffee steeps
The Hawk Kitchen Outpost 7:57am
Silver reaches Me
gleaming off The Sea
into My brilliant little kitchen
Silver is My Foundation
from My Shower of Silver Lights
I have grown
into Its Representative
and I will carry samples
of Its Refinement
wherever I shall be
The Hawk Kitchen Outpost 10:22am
My Ten-thousand Square Foot Painting
still EXISTS
albeit underground
in two unwieldy bundles
somewhere within the confines
of The Orangetown Dump
in Rockland County, New York
where I grew up
The Hawk Kitchen Outpost 7:37am
The Sun is somewhere
behind The Fog
I see the murky Silver
of sky and sea
I see The Price
of Gigantic Bars
fluctuating on
My Computer
Screen
The Hawk Kitchen Outpost 7:51am
I see The Silver Streaks
again
across My Silver Sea
I see The Halos of Light
again
throughout My Lashes
framing My Sight
and signifying
The Day of Good
The Hawk Kitchen Outpost 8:12am
I stand in The Warmth
of Silver Sun Light
beaming through My Window —
last night We fought —
or I did —
but got up for coffee
anyway —
and anyway
I’m all right
