JUST TOUCHED DOWN IN THUNDER BAY

I have My Daughter even though
I drove Her to the airport
through new autumn foliage —
I have My Daughter
Adult Female
as She pressed that button
on Her do-it-yourself
flight registry
She cried
when We hugged Good-bye
I think because
She never had Me
Wow that is hard ! Very powerful writing, and one of the best I have seen on your blog.
I agree with lifeCameos. It seems you are “feeling” in unique ways – perhaps the old ways of your youth – sharply, free of the dullness – free of altering substances – exponentially more alive …
As well, a great title for the piece.
To Lifecameos and Chagall: Your comments just add to My Never-ending Gratefulness that My Life has been restored through My new-found relationship with Eliza (and son Peak Who’s in Haida Gwaii) in this monumental summer of 2016. Thank You so much for Your Continued Reading.
All the best for the journey ahead of you. We will continue to read your blog.
Joanna I haven’t been on your site in awhile and the first poem I touch down on is “Thunder Bay”! My home town. I’m heading there in a week for a visit.
A lovely piece of writing.
Oh Chris! When I found You long ago I was so pleased to have a local Canadian on My Blog Roll — now to find out Your home town is where My Precious Eliza is linked to Her Boyfriend Jonathan Boo — hope You have a wonderful visit.
