Love it. —CC
Thank You! I notice your comment time is posted @ 9:30pm — New York time?
Yes – 9:30 NY time – lower east side time. —Chagall
Wow – that’s kind of freaky. Yes, 930 EST. 🙂 —Chagall
I lived on east third street and avenue A and also on St. Mark’s Place while I went to art school. I loved my life in New York City but I always knew I would live for the rest of my life in Nova Scotia.
I grew up on 11th between A & B and had a lot of friends on 3rd. Hells Angels and Dynamite Bros down there in the day. Spent many a day at St Marks. old Fillmore East and a parade of old-school head shops back in the day, around 9th St and St. Marks. You went to Cooper Union? —CC
Cool! Yes, I went to Cooper Union and graduated in 1983.
The city has changed a great deal since then – most for the better, some not. Lower East Side has lost some of its charm, I think. Maybe I am more nostalgic than practical. CC
I would like to go back for a visit.
Autumn in NY is quite beautiful. Glittering crowds and shimmering clouds and all that. 🙂
I have house guests right now who are from New York — friends who grew up with my parents in Snedens Landing. I am thoroughly enjoying their company and their New York perspective. AND they thought Self Organizing Galaxy was amazing! (Smiley Face) And yes I remember fall in NYC — That’s when I did my roof painting.
I love Self Organizing Galaxy 🙂 All those to whom I’ve mentioned it are intrigued by it both in concept and by its historical niche in NYC history. Yours is a very special story in my mind.
Your comment makes me very happy. I am very proud of my accomplishment and am looking forward to when the Whole World will SEE.
Absolutely. See with their own , as one of your earlier poems put it. The story at large is the stuff of a novella, if not a grander piece. Perhaps inspiration for a new work, something like “Galaxy Reorganized?” 🙂
I showed an old puzzle project of Flaming June to my house guests and demonstrated how I wrote on the back of each piece and on the space where the piece lay. I randomly picked an edge piece which happened to say “Linda B just” “called” — I had just been in contact with Linda Belo on Prince Edward Island and told her my guests might visit her there (& maybe spend the night?) — My friends were astonished and said, “Now we HAVE to go see her!”
Flaming June as per Leighton? That coincidence perhaps brings us full circle to 9:30 PM – no? —CC
Upon showing the15-year-old puzzle (with illustrations embedded) I discovered that some of the pieces were still blank, so now I am going back to it and somewhere will be written “Sea” “Quill”
Yes! I do not believe in coincidence. I believe in synchronicity.
Yes – as do I (synchronicity). Have a wonderful version of Jung’s Red Book that dominates a coffee table here. I think sea and quill are beautiful choices.
Thank You and I have so enjoyed this thread.
I as well. Ci vediamo.
