DESUDATION
by Joanna Gilman Hyde
The Hawk Kitchen 5:45pm
OK, I’ve had it
with this star-quality house dust
blanketing every dark surface
in My Maid-free Home —
I see The Night Sky
on My Kitchen Radio
shaped like an alien’s head
& crumbs of cat treats
in the Milky Way
of My New Kitchen Floor
beautiful as ever, I love the star-quality dust and maid-free.
Thank you, SACH — I wasn’t sure about this poem either — feeling it was cut too short. I’m so glad you liked it.
Actually, I don’t think you could have ended it any better!
Without belabouring the point, I am really encouraged by your comment as I have been uneasy about this one, especially since I feel less inspired these last couple of days.
