YET ANOTHER STAR POEM
The Hawk En-suite Bath 7:55pm
Yes, EYE have counted
The Black Stars
left by M(EYE) Body
against The Whiteness
of The Tub & EYE
Yes I, have de-s(EYE)de-ed
that as Their Number
totals ELEVEN
EYE am in
Good Hands
The Hawk Kitchen 7:53am
The Silver Glare
alerts My Eyes
& shifts to flashes
of White
safe in My Kitchen
with the coffee pot on
I care not
for the rest of The World —
Oh but I do!
The Hawk Kitchen Outpost 5:20pm
When I see a quiet wave
break
from a dark blue swell
into a white ridge of foam
gliding along the rocky shore
I think of the arms
of Our Galaxy
cradling
All We Are
Our Lives
Our God
The Hawk Kitchen 8:13pm
I have A Magic Pendant
It is Black & White
I wear It always around My Neck
to let It clarify My Sight
My Brother had One
made of Silver
It was Our Mother’s
Oh How He Loved Her!
He dangled Its chain
& let It swing
to answer Yes one way
or No the other
He saw His Way
out of any dilemma
& told His Fortune
to His Gods
He struck a deal
with His Death
that He would be remembered
as a Man of Steel
safely stowed
in The Land of Nod
The Hawk Outpost 1:41pm
There’s a ridge of ice
on The Ocean
& Deer in the yard
hungry for Our Neighbours’
carrots
I’m done packing
Dr Blair’s
book collection
18 boxes in all
moved from Barrington
to The Hawk
in time for
lunch
The Hawk Kitchen 10:15pm
My Tall Black Cat
sits by the door
of glass
looking out to the snowy deck
turning back
to Me
to mew
The Hawk Outpost 10:15am
I have risen to The Gleam Of Silver
aeons in the making
having set Its High
& clung to It
I will witness The World’s
turn-around
from the light of gold
to The Shower Of Silver —
from the day of the yellow metal
to The Night of The White
The Hawk Outpost 6:40pm
I am The Wisps of Gold
turning Pink
as The Clock turns
turning Grey
to Early Evening White
as a deer with antlers
grazes in My Back Yard
