LUMINOSITY II
Eye would paint the sky
in oils feathering greys
for M(eye) clouds of Gold
Eye would paint the sky
in oils feathering greys
for M(eye) clouds of Gold
Sun-meshed horizon
colouring clouds, Eye can hear
M(eye) morning bird song
The Hawk Window Seat 5:30am
I woke from The Hawk Queen Bed
to see The Full Moon resting
over The Cape
and on the other side
of The Earth
the pink glow of promise
that soon I would see
My Beloved Sun
edge Its way to the surface
The Hawk Kitchen Outpost 7:09am
The Sun rises North now
over The Scrub Spruce
leaving only a glance
of Silver Water
for Me to stretch My Eye to —
but I saw It this morning
from the bathroom window upstairs
where I COULD see more water
and saw It blip to the surface
before I went back
to sleep
The Hawk West Desk Window 8:45pm
I can watch The Sun go down
in The West
over prehistoric islands
then I can watch It rise
in The East
over My Favourite
Ocean
The Hawk Kitchen Outpost 7:36am
The Sun has risen
much further North
than I expected
& I am to execute
a sculpture of Hunter’s closest friend
whose eyes are up & open
to the surprise of his
final moment
The Hawk Kitchen Outpost 7:40am
I see The Silver Lining
of the cloud bank over head
out to sea I look
to the pewter of the waves
The Sun is out, clouded
casting Its own Silver
across the rippled sky
The Hawk Queen Bed 7:57am
We had a magnificent sunrise
this morning — actually cloud rise —
the billowing clouds along the horizon
were banked by lesser streaks
& the sun’s light glared out behind
illuminating the bulbous edges
— it even had rays shining out & up —
— but We never saw the sun —
it got caught
The Hawk Window Seat 8:30am
I watched for The sun
along the glowing horizon
& when It sparked, It bounced
& shouted out, “Good Morning!”
