I SAW THE SKY FILLED WITH GOLD

Old Cat Named Abby
Can You See The Dark
Before You?
With Your Plaintive Mew
How Can I Get Through
The Night With
Or Without You?

Can You See The Dark
Before You?
With Your Plaintive Mew
How Can I Get Through
The Night With
Or Without You?
The Hawk Queen Bed 9:18am
I am comfortable
in My House —
It’s not a hotel
with lavish sheets & pillows —
It comes with A Husband
& Seven Cats
lying about with the rain
& Our Second Cups
of Coffee
The Hawk Kitchen 10:15pm
My Tall Black Cat
sits by the door
of glass
looking out to the snowy deck
turning back
to Me
to mew
The Hawk Outpost 4:49pm
There’s That Beautiful Soft Light
Along The Horizon
Again
Shielding Me From Harm
While My Husband Takes A Nap
& The Cats Finish Their Supper
December 9, 2014 The Hawk Window Seat 8:30pm
All I ever really wanted
was An Affair
with Dr Blair —
but He wanted Me
to be cured
to cook Him His Meals
to go out on dark & stormy nights
for Gravol
to help let the cats out
& back in
so I grew
into A Doctor’s Wife
for Him
Eliza’s Lavender Room 7:36pm
The Second Coming of Christ
has moved out of Her Husband’s Room
to afford greater access
to sleep without cats
— a temporary move —
but now to live
in the singularity of mind
DIVINE & HUMAN
as She programs Her Self
to open up The World
by saying “Good Night”
to Its mammoth past
The Tomato-coloured Couch 5:35pm
I am in the psychiatric unit
of My Mind
sitting on a vinyl couch
waiting for the day to end
waiting for supper @ 4:00
making My twenty-fifth cup of tea
but in My Reality
I am BACK — on MY COUCH
tomato-coloured
with My Big Black Panther
at My Feet
& potato salad
in the fridge
The Hawk Deck 8:07am
It matters not that
Eye Am Human
It matters not that
Eye Am God
In love w/ All
M(eye) Sea
in molten Silver
& dewy trees
& grass so wet
Eye just let out
a cat
The Tomato-coloured Couch 6:38pm
There once was A Girl
for Whom all She touched
turned to Silver
She lived in a Silver House
with Her Mother
and Five Cats
(The Cats weren’t Silver)
— there was a Silver Statue
of Her Mother after The Mother
died
& The Girl kept It
under Her Silver Bed
She had Friends come over
but would not touch Them
unless They wanted to be Silver too
One Day She met A Little Man
down a mossy lane
and The Little Man touched Her
by mistakei
He instantly turned
to Silver
and ran away
without even telling The Girl
His Name
