The Hawk Corner Room
9:30 am
Last night I stood
giving birth 2 a baby
clothed in what I presume
were swaddling clothes
(or mummy wrappings?)
I had 2 uncover
him or her
layer by layer
& then he/she
got lost —
later I was on a solitary road trip
around unfamiliar, made-up places
here in lovely Nova Scotia
driving the slate-blue Ford
Dr Fraudster bought me
without consulting me,
& suddenly found myself
stuck in a cloud of heavy white mist —
it wasn’t fog —
I could see nothing
except a slight opening
2 my upper right
revealing what I guessed
2 be Western Sky
& I felt it was time enough
I had spent
here in lovely Nova Scotia
