“All The Time In The World”

The Tomato-coloured Couch 6:30pm

How valuable is My Time

when I have so much of It?

I can get a call

from My Son stocking groceries for His Drive

to Mexico from Vancouver

while I linger in Nova Scotia

with My Shopping Cart in the snack isle

of Sobey’s

an hour before My Manicure Appt.

taking all the time I need

to say Good-bye

The Hawk Queen Bed 9:03am

I dreamt I was dressed

in a Santa Claus dress

inside a forum of people —

I had the floor

and addressed the crowd

by emphatically stating

“It’s OK for adults to dress up

but Children should neverĀ  be

lied to.”

The Hawk Kitchen 5:01pm

I looked up from cutting

My Potatoes

and took in My Breath

seeing The First Illuminaton

of an otherwise nondescript day

— The Sun had broken through

in The West

and to The East I saw

The Scraggly Apple

and bank of scrub spruce

tinged with Gold

The Hawk Queen Bed 9:18am

I am comfortable

in My House —

It’s not a hotel

with lavish sheets & pillows —

It comes with A Husband

& Seven Cats

lying about with the rain

& Our Second Cups

of Coffee

The Hawk Queen Bed 9:57am

Hunter has a sideways glance

I find so endearing

He cocks His Head

to the right

& catches You with His Eye

for a split second

& looks away & down

having hinted

“Isn’t that so?”

The Tomato-coloured Couch 5:22pm

My Halo is back

visiting Me for half an hour

while I listened

to world financial forecasts

with Hunter

The Tomato-coloured Couch 4:33pm

I will not be burned

at the stake I will be shot

in The Back again

The Tomato-coloured Couch 2:39pm
