THE TUB

The Tomato-coloured Couch 5:27pm

I stepped into My Shower

@ 2:22

to wash just My Self

(not My Hair)

under the spray

I stood looking down

at My White Surroundings

& found My Self

The Child again

naked in the hand-worked cement

of a Snedens Landing pool

built by My Father’s Father

where I looked for Inchworms

& tried to see Their Eyes

DEPTH OF FIELD

The Hawk Queen Bed 10:15am

I Am Blinded By

The Ocean Light Yet I See

My World Clearly

COKE — COK — COCK

The Tomato-coloured Cock 9:22pm

(notes from an unscheduled meeting with an old psychiatrist)

“You’re just a very nice Lady Who lives in Shelburne –”

“Well, I don’t live in Shelburne anymore —

and do You know

what colour My Underwear is, Jimbo?”

“No, I don’t”

“It’s Red — Jimbo — Red Lace — and

do You know how many views I have

on My New York City Rooftop Painting?

three thousand, and twenty-two  — what do I stand for Now?

“I don’t know –”

“I’m An American — Jimbo —

dressed here in Red, White and Blue

wearing My Pro-Life underwear —

and if You ever call Me a nice lady again

I’ll kick You in the balls”

MY LITERAL BLESSING

The Tomato-coloured Couch 3:15pm

That Shower Of Silver Lights

My Shower

cleansed Me not of sin

but of all Darkness

ensuing from that stultifying depression

which was Its inevitable outcome —

I see Its Silver still

on The Ocean

I see It in My Daily Shower

I carry Its Light

free of burden

and transpose It

into

My Own Personal

Effulgence

BATHROOM VIEW

The Hawk En-suit Bathroom 1:22pm

Eye-level to Me

as I stand before

My Bathroom Window

is The Full Curve

of The Hawk Beach

and to The East

The Full Ocean —

looking down upon

My Yard

I see My Carved-out Drive

full of snow

and The Occasional Crow

flying by

HERALD

The Hawk Dining Room 8:56am

I am awakened by a heavenly sky

framed within the arched window

of My Dining Room

The Light cuts through

the cracks of cloud

to re-create striking fields

of Grandest Streaks

reaching diagonally over The Water

illuminating Its Stretch

THE STAFF OF LIFE

The Tomato-coloured Couch 1:15pm

I held a wafer-thin slice of home-made bread

and breathed to My Self:

“This Is The Staff Of Life”

I placed The Slice, along with The Remainder of The Loaf

on a white plate

and served It to The Crows

in the snow out back

2 ANNUNCIATIONS

The Hawk Window Seat 11:22am

I Am Advertising My Self

But I Am Not For Sale —

I’m Free!

The Hawk Living Room NOON

She Cried, “I AM IN LOVE!”

& Then She Died

SNOW TIME

The Tomato-coloured Couch 4:07pm

Black Jesus sits in The Snow-Sun

with Her Serengetis on

— a new stylus in Her Silver/Onyx Pen —

She’s on Her Tomato-coloured Couch

a cushioned platform

from Which to make Public Declarations —

Coffee House plays

What will She utter Today?

What will The Grown-up Version

of The Little Child point out

for The People’s Participation —

a crack at understanding

Our Innate Sensibilities?

Our Lived-in Sensitivities?

“What are You waiting for —

We are Alive and Our Humanity

is Our Most Precious Gift

Given To Our Selves

BY OUR SELVES”
