SOMETHING LITE
by Joanna Gilman Hyde
Barrington Passage 5:30pm
My Grandmother on My Mother’s side
was from Birmingham, Alabama
and told me this riddle when I was little:
“What’s the difference between
a piece of watermelon
and a sweet pea?”
Answer: “About fifteen minutes.”
OK, here’s another. What do you get if you cross a mountain with an elephant?
I only know my late brother’s riddle, “What do you get if you cross an elephant with a rhino?”
I’ll show you mine, if you show me yours.
Mine is: Immortality
“Hell If I Know!”
🙂
Actually, My Brother’s answer was, ‘Ell if I Know!
Yes, I got it; that’s what the smile was for.
