VIEW

The Hawk Hallway 8:18am

I catch The Silver Sheen

upon the water

& wonder what the day

will bring

I prepare My List

for Home-coming Daughter

& wonder not that My Heart

still sings

LAST ONE

The Hawk Library 3:20pm

I never had a drink

on a psychiatric ward

why should I have one

in My Own Place

or anywhere else

for that matter

why should I ever

have one again?

The Hell with Social Drinking

I will be freely psychotic

at My Own Pace

LIMITLESS

The Tomato-coloured Couch 2:40pm

What if People

have been pounding out mountains

for aeons

building pyramids

cities all over the globe

& filling oceans

bucket by bucket?

OCTOBER 31st

The Tomato-coloured Couch 12:50pm

For Halloween I saw

Two Aliens in The Steel-framed Mirror

in My Purple Bathroom —

This Pair communicates

with hand gestures

subtle signals

mental telepathy —

This has been going on

for Twenty Years

This Halloween The Masks

were pulled down

Sun Glasses pulled up

THREE DAYS LATER

The Hawk Living Room 9:05am

The Sun is white hot

this morning

with Its Silver Blazing

over the water

The Crows are in an uproar

waves of Starlings are matting Our Lawn

THE DOCTOR’S WIFE

The Tomato-coloured Couch 4:00pm

I am The Girl Who’s

had Every Advantage

even when the heel broke

off My Glass Slipper

I arrived unscathed

from an orgy of Champagne

in the back of a Limousine —

too bad I don’t remember

The Home Stretch

PLAYING DOCTOR

The Hawk West Desk Window 8:44am

I have A Show Husband

dressed for Casual Friday

in His brand new Art Director’s Shirt

& old jeans

He has to tell Them

“Listen People”

while He sells His Position

of being Dr Blair

& I sell Mine

of being His Wife

CLOUD RISE

The Hawk Queen Bed 7:57am

We had a magnificent sunrise

this morning — actually cloud rise —

the billowing clouds along the horizon

were banked by lesser streaks

& the sun’s light glared out behind

illuminating the bulbous edges

— it even had rays shining out & up —

— but We never saw the sun —

it got caught

CAPTURED

The Hawk Dining Room 9:57am

The Ocean Was A Band Of Silver

— I Saw It —

Then Pewter Against The Sky Of Cloud

— Now Silver —

In The Thinning Of The Sun

& I Have Had My Dream

Oh!  My Dream

AFRICA

The Tomato-coloured Couch 7:34pm

I have arranged a vase

of Eliza’s dried roses

sitting below two framed portraits

of Africa

My Beginning

I began in Gabon

for My First Year

photographed in Dr Schweitzer’s Arms

I have been in The Arms

of Doctors

ever since
