MORNING POOL

The Hawk Dining Room 8:20am

There’s no orb of sun to be seen

only a pool of liquid light

out past the neighbour’s roof line

now when I blink

I see a streak of lime-gold

against the black

of My Inner Eye

MY PEOPLE

The Tomato-coloured Couch 6:22pm

I watched The Sun

born under a solid lip

of pink-streaked cloud

He arrived into This World

Radiant Red

while My Alien

squirmed inside

beneath My Lower Rib Cage

crying fiercely to Me

I AM ALIVE

OVERVIEW

The Hawk Corner Room 3:30pm

I wear An Open Heart Watch

on My Right Arm

A Silver Band on My Left

My Question Mark Ring

I deliberately flashed

when I last saw Him

nodding

over The Bed of My X

Father-in-law

3:50pm

I plunge into My Day Dream

snug in Eliza’s Corner Room

with a cup of Earl Grey

in front of The Picture Window

framing The Reason

I am Here

MORNING SKY

The Hawk Kitchen 8:52am

The Blue-grey Clouds

sitting low

over The Slate-grey Ocean

are My Call

to drink

from The Horizon

THE OLD WOMAN

The Hawk Dining Room 11:11am

I stand in The Dining Room Window

My Right Arm crooked against

the back of a chair —

I gaze out to The Grey Ocean

slightly stooped, Me that is

and contemplate the remainder of My Life

however many days

ALIEN LOVE

The Tomato-coloured Couch 5:30pm

My Alien is flaring up —

I think He is the embodiment

of My Estranged Love

— I felt Him, hard

hard against My Mid-drift

while My Daughter

put acetone on Her Toe Nails

& wrapped Them in tin foil

calling Them Her Space Toes

I felt Him, soft

soft against My Face

when I looked at The New Moon

& Evening Star

SIGN

The Tomato-coloured Cock 1:28pm

I have seen

The Symmetry

of The White Dragonfly

made up

of 2 White Trucks

nose-to-nose:

cabs for brains

beds for wings

spanning the mid-section

of Wilson’s parking lot

in Barrington Passage,

Nova Scotia

VIEW

The Hawk Hallway 8:18am

I catch The Silver Sheen

upon the water

& wonder what the day

will bring

I prepare My List

for Home-coming Daughter

& wonder not that My Heart

still sings

THREE DAYS LATER

The Hawk Living Room 9:05am

The Sun is white hot

this morning

with Its Silver Blazing

over the water

The Crows are in an uproar

waves of Starlings are matting Our Lawn

CLOUD RISE

The Hawk Queen Bed 7:57am

We had a magnificent sunrise

this morning — actually cloud rise —

the billowing clouds along the horizon

were banked by lesser streaks

& the sun’s light glared out behind

illuminating the bulbous edges

— it even had rays shining out & up —

— but We never saw the sun —

it got caught
