THE OFFICE

Barrington Passage, NS 7:03pm

My Husband Has His Office

In The Heart Of Barrington Passage

Where We First Met —

He Changes Here

Into His Rowing Gear —

Dr Blair Rows A Dory

While His Wife

Walks The Seaside Trail

& Picks Out Diamonds

From The Soles Of Her Shoes

& Rainbows

From The Evening Sky

SUPER MOON

The Hawk Deck Rail 10:11am

I See The Silver

On The Water Bold

The Air Is Clear

The Fall It Holds

I Stand Beside My Rail Dear

To Right Away The Strife

I Fear

Is This The Moon

Or Is This The Sun?

It Doesn’t Matter

For I Have Won

THE CHICKADEE CALLS

The Hawk Deck 10:22am

It’s A Fine Time For Me

to write of The Religion For One

out here on My Pristine Deck

in The August Morning Sun —

What Can I Tell Of My View

Of The Self?

The Birds How They Cry

for broken hearts

& bombed civilians —

but wait —

NO ONE SHOULD GET BOMBED:

Ours Is An Earth

of exquisite beauty

& must not be marred

by hatred & distrust  —

I Am Here To Settle Out

the chaos

To Re-organize

The Individual Mind

To See Out Its Full Potential

& Have It Believe

in Life

SONG FOR MOTHER & DAUGHTER

August 6th,The Hawk Window Seat 11:07am

This Morning I Stood

At The Sliding Glass Door

Listening To The Waves

& The Insistence Of A Chickadee

But I Was Pulled Away

By The Concerns Of My Daughter

Making Her Way To College

August 7th, The Hawk Window Seat 11:04am

Last Night I Scared Eliza

Trying To Describe Our Shift

To The Left, To The East

Picturing My Self Standing

In The Atlantic

Facing South

With The West To My Right

The East To My Left

& The Mona Lisa

Has A Surprise

Under Her Left Hand

THE PARK WAY

The Hawk Window Seat 6:30pm

I have turned a corner

into a park-lit lane

surrounded by imported trees

& shadows floating on

newly cut grass

lush & green in the dappled sun

I am Home now

in My Mind

where I can hear

a song’s refrain

& be guided

to My Ultimate Destiny

MY HOUSE

The Hawk Kitchen 2:11pm

My House affords a clear view

even in the fog

I see the layers of scrub spruce

receding

from The Cats on the deck

& bread rising

with The Kettle on

MICHAELA & CHARLOTTE

The Tomato-coloured Couch 4:02pm

Two Little Girls, My Nieces

have added more Stars

to My House

tracking up My Stairs

from The Beach

for Me to sweep up

& turn Them into

My Galactic Palm

BEFORE THE GREY

The Hawk Outpost 9:00am

I See The Silver

Sheen Upon The Ocean So

I Know I Am Home

LEAVING THE HAWK

The Hawk Deck Rail 12:11pm

The Waves are loudest

just beyond The Scraggly Apple

I have prepared My House

for a deep thinker

& am ready to depart

for a trip

of No Expectations

RAID

The Tomato-coloured Couch 6:22pm

In Memory Of All The Flies

Who Died When I Sprayed

Their Cranny

Over My Storm Door —

In Memory Of All Those

Times I Let You Out

Carefully Lowering The Glass Panel

On The Screen

To Ease You Down Without Harm —

I Have Had To Sweep Off

Your Carcasses

From My Step

& Hope I Never See Your Brothers
