AFTER THE SNOW

The Hawk Outpost 4:30pm

The Sky has a hue

of aqua green

against the three or so

inches of white

The Colour is delicate

transitional

a gull flies through It

out of view

THE SKY IS SILVER!

The Hawk Dining Room 9:26am

The Ocean is a pale grey

beyond a fore drop of snow white

The Sun is My Luminous Disc

playing against the water

in streaks of golden silver

& clouds of darkened flakes

EASTERN GLOW

The Hawk Dining Room 8:27am

The Sky in The East

is fringed low with Gold

The Sun is somewhere

behind The Grey

The Ocean is Black

marred by waves

My Day is gathered

with Me She’ll stay

MORNING SILVER 2

The Hawk Dining Room 9:45am

I caught The Gleam

through My Dining Room

off The Silver Candelabra

The Snow is melting

& The Sun shines

diagonal rays downward

upon The Silver

Pool of Ocean

BLINK

The Hawk Window Seat 8:40am

The Cape Light

flanked by 2 scraggly spruce

stands out white

against a dark

& snow-filled sky

She alerts Me

to My Happiness

to My Security

to My Understanding

that no matter what

happens

I will be set

The Sun Emerges

The Hawk Corner Room 8:15am

I see a vertical

Ray Of Hope

defusing now at the top

of bulbous clouds

and emanating downward

into pink diagonals

at The Edge

of My Silver  Ocean

NEW LIGHT

The Hawk Outpost 8:06am

A New Day is upon Us

and A New Year

bespoken by the clouds

rippling above a line

of peach

telling Us We’re in

The Clear

There’s That Beautiful Soft Light

MY DAUGHTER & EYE

The Hawk Queen Bed 10:15pm

Together We watched a purple sky

as evening fell

upon Our Christmas Dinner —

 on Our way back

from Barrington

to pick up an ice pack

for Her trip south

We watched, together

the cradle of The Moon

falling into

a blackened sea

MORNING LOOK

The Hawk Queen Bed 8:20am

The Sky was beautiful

too intricately beautiful

to write about —

all I could do was look

at the heavy blue clouds

with faded mauve accents

and come upstairs

with Our Coffee
