LIFE FORCE

The Hawk Deck 9:36am

I Am The Vessel

of Life

consuming inordinate quantities

of water

retaining fluid

in My Head

& Limbs

I hear the call of The Mourning Dove

& The Grackle

on This New Spring Morning

I think of what My Life

contains:

My House

My Husband

My Far-away Kids

grown now

with Their Own

Lives

SILVER SUN 2

The Hawk Kitchen Outpost 8:40am

The Sun is Silver

again on The Water

I see It Teal Green

when I blink

I steal It through

My Eyes

& Mind

& harbour It

beside Me

BED TIME

The Hawk Queen Bed 9:22pm

Laced through the window

closed against the cold

I hear the peep of peepers

against the roar

of stormy waves

seeping through My Extra Blanket

enveloping Me

in All I Know

MONDAY MORNING

The Hawk Kitchen Outpost 8:25am

I see The Sphere

of The Sun

behind a watery Sky

luminescent behind

the foggy clouds

decking My Horizon

with Silver Grey

& Silver Wash

SUNDAY MORNING 3

The Hawk Kitchen Outpost 7:56am

A bank of silvery clouds

is broken at the horizon

with a band of light

above the ocean

Today is The Day

I see My Children

together as a pair

grown & out there

leading Their Own Lives

A BEAUTIFUL MORNING

The Hawk Deck 7:20am

I open My Door

to stand on My Deck

with the waves, the birds

& sun

last night’s fog

is alight on the growth

the coffee pot is on

My Husband will row

HOME COMING

The Hawk Kitchen 8:26am

The ocean is a sea

of liquid Silver

The Sky is adrift

with opal cloud

My Son comes home

after two years away

and I am awash

in gratitude

DEER WATCHING

The Hawk Outpost 7:40pm

The Deer here are the colour

of very early Spring

They emerge from the undergrowth

like apparitions materializing

from rounded ears & noses

necks & torsos

heading for the neighbours’ carrots

on high-stepping dainty hooves

pausing only to blend Their buff coats

against a lawn

of very late winter

MORNING SONG 2

The Hawk West Desk Window 8:25am

There lies an aqua wash

to the Westward Sky

It holds My Future

by and by

My Past is with Me

day by day

I sing My Song

and let It stay

LAVENDER CANDLE

The Hawk Corner Room 4:34pm

I hear the surf

through the fog

of Our Elusive Spring

I have decked My Daughter’s

powder room with accents

of purple and I sit

on My Lotus Ottoman

with the wet window

before Me

& eggplant ensemble

behind
