CAPE SABLE ISLAND

The Hawk Kitchen Outpost 9:28am

EYE have The Purity

of a dream —

like The Tears I Shed

on The Shoulder

of a grieving widow —

like The Silver Line

of wake behind

a fishing boat

along My Shimmering Ocean —

loved

NOW EYE HAVE THE SAME

The Hawk Kitchen Outpost 10:05am

At Jordan Bay

My Grandmother

always watched The Ocean

dazzling —

She would tell Me

about The Diamonds

and Stars

and She would

allow Me to

relish Them and to

revel in Them

SLEEPING WELL

The Hawk Kitchen Outpost 7:49pm

The Cry of The Gull

tells Me where I am

where I want to be

beside The Ocean

in a house I love

with cats I love

and A Husband

I am grateful for

in The Morning

ACCENT MARK

The Hawk Portico 2:24pm

I see a single wave

break

periodically

out past the neighbours’

laundry lines —

I could time it

for You

but that would succeed

only

in winding down

the day

SILVER WASH

The Hawk Kitchen Outpost 7:41am

The Ocean is calm

so still The Silver

drips in undulating

star form

drip, drip

drop

into My Eyes

and Face

I drink

MOON SCAPE

The Hawk Kitchen Outpost 8:11pm

The Moon Is Gold

Sometimes

When It Rises

But Always Turns

To Silver

High In

The Sky

EYE AM THE SILVER CHRIST

New Year’s Day 2012 The Hawk

I am The Silver Christ

Grey if you like

in This Time of Black & White

I represent The Reconciliation

of Opposites

I can Speak

if You Dare To Listen

I can Point

if You Dare To Open

Your Eyes

though I will not blind You

with My Brilliance —

I will fortify You

with Your Own

What Could We Accomplish

Out There

in Our Brave Wide World —

would You allow Me

to become a Child again —

with The Child’s brazen curiosity?

Could You, Would You

dress Me in Silver —

Dazzling Grey —

or shall I stay

in My Thick Grey Robe?

I’m sitting on My Neutral Sofa

with The Atlantic Ocean & Open Sky

both Grey Today

along My Right

& You, All of You —

to My Left

TODAY’S SILVER

The Hawk Kitchen Outpost 10:15am

The Silver glitters

on My Ocean Front

like the spears

that crashed down on My Head

all around Me

twenty-three years ago —

it’s taken that long

to spread The Glory

from My Sight

out and around

The World

into Our Hands

SILVER ROW

The Hawk Kitchen Outpost 10:05am

EYE see The Silver

inside The April Snow

EYE see The Glimmer

abreast The Water

as EYE break

through M(EYE) Row

MORNING SKY

The Hawk Kitchen Outpost 8:09am

The Sky is heavy blue

with cloud —

The Sea the colour of plasticine

Rudy’s Head sits veiled in The Living Room

unseen

while He’s back in hospital
