MORNING PLACE

The Hawk Kitchen 9:44am

Silver Greets Me

From The Earth And Sky

The Clouds Are Laced

With Watery Striation

The Ocean Is Streaked

With My Favourite Light

I Am Safely Stationed

In My Morning Place

SEEDS OF LIFE IN A DISTANT FLOCK OF BIRDS

The Hawk Window Seat 2:44pm

I Took My Shower

@ 2:22

I Was in There

For Untold Minutes, Hours, Days

I Am Still There

Rubbing My Eyes

Like A Child

Who Sees The Spray

Of The Universe

EXISTENCE

The Hawk Queen Bed March 21st 11:50pm

Please allow Me to explain

everything

in Galactic Terms —

if We are integrating with Aliens

it is mutually beneficial —

Yes, The Egyptians were convinced

of an afterlife

as I am convinced of God —

if the existence of Aliens

disputes the existence of God

I say No — We can and do

have both

GOOD GOD

The Hawk Kitchen 6:47pm

I See A Bird Of Silver

Against A Cloud Of Grey

It Signals To Me

All Is Well

And This Is How We’ll Stay

THAT WAS THAT

The Hawk Queen Bed 10:00pm

Tonight I saw a Nebula

of cat hair against a mat

black by the front door

with a Crescent Moon

of shedded cat claw

among the detritus of outdoors

tracked in

and as I contemplated from above

My Spectacle of Space

a fat cat came along

and sat

and sat

“I HEARD A FLY BUZZ WHEN I DIED*”

The Hawk Portico 4:30pm

The Fly Stopped

Upon My Heart

And Told Me To Stand Still

To Take In All The Sun

Upon The Front Porch Sill

So I Stood To Gaze At Him

Until I Bent To Try

To Sit Upon My Chair Of Red

And Begged Him Not To Die

ON A CLEAR DAY

The Hawk Dining Room 12:18pm

Why do I feel so much better?

is the same question as

Why do I feel so terrible?

There is no one answer for either

so I will revel in My Contentedness

and dismiss the recollection

of Darker Days

THE PRETTIEST LIGHT

The Hawk Corner Room 7:35pm

The Prettiest Light

is in The Eastern Sky

when The Sun goes down in The West

The East soaks It in

in Mauve, then Chiffon Pink

with Blue-grey underneath

hovering over The Water

I sit and think

how Yesterday

is no more

how Today

is ending thus

I HAVE TO WRITE

The Hawk Corner Room 10:43am

I have to write

as if My Life depended on it —

I have to write

as I watch The Silver Streaks

out on the ocean

move from singular lines

to eye-splitting patches

taking over

the murky darker grey

TWO LIGHTS

The Hawk Kitchen 8:40am

This morning a golden sun

crossed over My makings for coffee

& coloured the ocean

a molten gold

For the second cup

a sun of white

shone through opaque clouds

to spot the ocean

liquid silver
