MOON POEM

The Hawk Dining Room 7:28pm

The Moon rose at supper

like a humanoid zygote

passing first through a layer of peach —

as the peach got pinker and pinker

The Moon got higher and higher —

Its fullness minus a day

glowed Its luminous face

to the solid bank of ocean

and to The Earthlings at Their Window

INSIDE

The Tomato-coloured Couch 1:18pm

The Polish has been subdued a little

off My Sparkling Day —

I am inside with the cool wind out

The Radio is on

I am drinking copious quantities of water

from My Glass Marked “LIFE”

1:25pm

The World can reach into My Heart

& pull out all The Hope It Needs

to get Us through this rough time

this transition from Gold to Silver

Day to Night

Sun to Moon

West to East

Man to Woman

Yes, take It all —

It’s free, right here

My Hope Lives

Where I Live

HOME

Pubnico, NS 10:22am

I am driving Home

A New Message

there — I see that tree I remember

I climbed It as a little kid

& now It is The Mighty Oak

Out There I See The Ocean

with tidal flats before

I hear The Waves

high under The Full Moon

pushing Me onward

to The Self

I think I know

so well

in perpetuum

The Tomato-coloured Couch 5:40pm

Oh that spinning game

where the grown-up grabs

the child’s wrists

& swings him/her around

& around

am I in this game

in the path of Earth & Moon

& that Adult —

Who is He?

MOON HAIKU

The West Desk Window 9:44pm

I STEPPED ON MOON GLOW

IN MY NIGHT-TIME LIVING ROOM

LOOKED UP:  BLUE HALO

ELIZA’S ROOM 4:15pm

Oh Luminous Cloud —

am I the only One Who sees You?

I watched Your Golden Aura fade

& then The Moon peeked out

from underneath

Your Grey Companions

THE HAWK BEDROOM 3:30pm

I came upstairs

to brush My Teeth

& there was That Silver

this time out on a swath of ocean

to The South West

gleaming for Me

through Silver Clouds

My Power Is In Silver

though I wear

The Colour Black

Silver is from The Moon

Our Eye-Dent-i-Teye

MOON WORSHIPPER

I’m a Moon Worshipper —

I just ate a banana

while looking at The Moon

and laid the peel

on the window sill

below

THE HAWK WEST WINDOW 9:32pm

Today I Received

A Friend from Shelburne

Whose Voice of God

Directed Her

To Come See Me

She Is Back In My Life

Complete With God

Within Her — I Trust Her

She Is My New Friend

9:38

I See The Crescent Moon

tonight, setting

Outside My West Desk Window

9:40

I Have Never Watched The Crescent Set

THE HAWK EAST WINDOW 9:22pm

Where Am I

in The Shadow of The Deck

upon My Neighbour’s Wall?

Where Am I

amongst The Flies

hordes

which by fortune

do not alight?

I Am Here

in The Moon

glowing pink

into gold

not to be smudged out

by a wafting fog

illuminating My Aura
