Husband turned Me down

for the holiday weekend —

My Bed is for Me

The Hawk West Desk Window 9:11am

This is My Home

This is where I eat

and sleep

and dress My Husband

for work

I do The Laundry

and cook casseroles

to last throughout

The Week

The Hawk Kitchen 5:15pm

I’ve set My Deluxe Spaghetti

with hamburger AND sausage

housed in crockery from My First Marriage

into My Gleaming Oven —

I spent two days cleaning off

baked-on two-year-old grease

including showering with the racks this morning —

now My Like-new Oven will provide a fortifying meal

to serve dinner guests

any day this week

not to include My Daughter

in this singularly female household

supported by One Man

& One Daughter’s Inheritance (that’s Me!)

living a life of leisure

& art —

am I being unfair

to My Self — afterall

I grocery shop

take out the trash

clean occasionally

& try to cook

The Hawk Queen Bed 9:11pm

I hear The Peepers through My Left

Surf out to My Right

My Left Hand rests on My Husband’s Thigh

My Pills I’ve taken for The Night

The Day is closing, nondescript

though visited Mother-in-law (ex)

to make sure Eliza’s Prom Dress zipped

(It did)

made home-made pizza —

was a hit

in bed now, early
