THE HAWK HALLWAY 12:30pm

Wind whistles through the cracks

at My Side Door

telling Me relentlessly

to stop living My Life

in This Mumbo Jumbo Fashion

of signifying moments

according to the alignment

of 22

like why should I keep

a New Year’s Resolution

to row 22 Minutes on My C2

when I wake up with a dream

of The Silver-Black Crow

dressed in a plaid shirt

& Me in a grey coat

hugging each other?

EMERGENCY

DVD will you meet me @ Barrington Sobey’s cart corral

tomorrow at 2:22 pm

I now know why you stood

at the foot of My Hospital Bed

ELIZA’S ROOM 4:15pm

Oh Luminous Cloud —

am I the only One Who sees You?

I watched Your Golden Aura fade

& then The Moon peeked out

from underneath

Your Grey Companions

THE HAWK DECK 4:22pm

I see a great hull of a cloud

draining an isolated shower

out over The Atlantic

blue-grey into blue-grey

I have begun reading

Anne Yarbrough’s Bowl of Light

a beautiful record of Her Time

living on Mc Nutt’s Island —

Eliza says she wants to read it too

MOON WORSHIPPER

I’m a Moon Worshipper —

I just ate a banana

while looking at The Moon

and laid the peel

on the window sill

below

THE HAWK WEST DESK WINDOW 12:45pm

You knew I would write

something festering

for today

I’m dressed like The Athletic Witch that I am:

black kicks, black capris. black underwear

grey knit zip-up running top

white bra, white socks

with two loads of laundry out on the line

first Dark, then Light

and I Got My Period

VIEW FROM THE TOMATO-COLOURED COUCH 2:22pm

My Daughter stood above Me

on The Hawk Balcony

wearing an off-white sweater

She slipped on a pearl earring

Her Face was “Done”

She looked like the apparition

of An Angel

— I wished I could just send

My Mother’s Island Possession

over to Her —

but She’s going to Her Boyfriend’s hockey game

& turning 18 tomorrow

& now She’s changed

into a grey sweatshirt

BEAUTIFUL BIRD

The Hawk Kitchen 7:15pm

She was a beautiful bird —

I was lucky to be standing there

on The Deck

She landed near Me

in The Scraggly Apple

dove-like

with greyish wings

& peachy breast

Our Eyes Met

Her Friends Came

& took Her away

THE HAWK DECK 11:37am

When I was a Child

I decided to be an Artist

so I could paint paintings

to hang in My Own House —

I would have My Own Art

surrounding Me as I have now

with The Sea, The Sky & Sounds of Birds

I am wearing My Purple Robe

out on The Deck on a grey day —

dry & still — I hear The Waves

& drink My Tea

thinking of My Full Self

& The Flies that buzz

around Me

I LOVE MY HOUSE

The Hawk Kitchen 9:22am

I Love My House

I am private here

public when I wanna be

I can have rye toast & marmalade

when Eliza takes the last banana

I can hang laundry in The Sun

& keep My Bathrobe on
