PRECISION CUT

The Hawk Queen Bed 9:22pm

I have X’d out

the 10/22

next to My Signature

on “My Black Star”

It makes Me feel good

to see this black line

over something once held

in the highest esteem

now ground down

into The Earth

PEAK’S BIRTHDAY

The Tomato-coloured Couch 6:35pm

I have come a long way

since My Son

was born

& I have decided to make

My New Year’s Resolution

early:

NO MORE SIGNIFICANCE

TO SEQUENTIAL 2’s —

if I could stop drinking I can

stop anything —

and I WILL stop The World

when It’s Time

NEUTRICIEL

The Hawk Window Seat 9:11pm

I inadvertently support

the pharmaceutical industry —

I’m a hard swallower —

I glug down My 13 Pills

all at once —

& hope for the best rest

I can get

A Deer Trots By

The Hawk Outpost 4:49pm

There’s That Beautiful Soft Light

Along The Horizon

Again

Shielding Me From Harm

While My Husband Takes A Nap

& The Cats Finish Their Supper

SILVER AURA

The Tomato-coloured Couch 3:00pm

I stood in a corner

beside The Photograph

of Dr Schweitzer holding Me

& chanted out for The World to witness

“I Stand For Silver”

“I Stand For Silver”

“I Stand — For Silver”

I chanted & chanted

until I could chant

no more

& became The Petulant Child —

now there lies

a cat

where My Feet were planted

MY DAUGHTER & EYE

The Hawk Queen Bed 10:15pm

Together We watched a purple sky

as evening fell

upon Our Christmas Dinner —

 on Our way back

from Barrington

to pick up an ice pack

for Her trip south

We watched, together

the cradle of The Moon

falling into

a blackened sea

ON A TRIP TO YARMOUTH

Highway 103, NS NOON

Before Bed

I take a selection

of pills

— ten to be exact —

some for My Body

some for My Mind

They restore My Sleep

but rob Me of My Dreams

and so now I have an aura

accompanying My Vision

when I exit

The Shower

in Day Light

MORNING LOOK

The Hawk Queen Bed 8:20am

The Sky was beautiful

too intricately beautiful

to write about —

all I could do was look

at the heavy blue clouds

with faded mauve accents

and come upstairs

with Our Coffee

SILVER LINE

The Hawk Dining Room 9:30am

The Silver Line

IS

The Horizon

with illuminated clouds

above

The Sea Is Grey

& I am ready

to put the coffee

on
