BLACK & GOLD

The Hawk Deck 12:42pm

I Fed The Gulls

In My Signature Dress

in view of conscientious construction workers

& Fed My Husband

a bagel & cream cheese

while He Listened

to The Internet

EYE WILL NOT

The Hawk Portico 4:57pm

EYE will not be contained

by a cottage studio

where EYE write or paint

the fog tumbling in

like the meringue

EYE fold

into MEYE Bread Pudding

SKY BURST

The Hawk Kitchen Outpost 9:18am

The Sky is heavenly this morning

with subtle streaks of sun rays

shining down in broken lines

of Silver on The Sea

When next I looked

the clouds had shifted

allowing Sun

to bathe the water

in glimmering shimmer

and to bathe My Heart

in Star Light

WHILE MAKING COFFEE

The Hawk Kitchen Outpost 8:11am

I open My Window

to the cries of gulls

& flash My Eyes against

the light out over

My Morning Ocean

CLOSE-KNIT

The Tomato-coloured Couch 3:10pm

There is safety in talking

about the weather

but not in asking

“I don’t know the girl —

she writes poetry”

YOUR TIME

July 17, 2015 The Hawk Queen Bed 10:00pm

Your Years are like

a possession —

whatever decade you

happen to be in —

Those Years belong

to You

STAR SET

The Tomato-coloured Couch 8:32pm

I See A Peach-coloured Star

lowering Itself

beneath the wires

sinking into the fog

of the shoreline

It Is My Home Star

MELTDOWN

The Hawk TV Room 1:30pm

I am The Metal Man

slithering in My Chair

sliding from My Metal Head

down to My Slippery Hips

& to My Puddled Feet

stranding Me to The Floor

SUPPER SILVER

The Hawk Hallway 6:50pm

Silver Glows

Upon The Westward Sea

The High Wires

Glitter In The Sun

Still High

While My Fish

Melts Under The Broiler

I JUST DANCED

The Hawk Living Room 1:08pm

I just danced

to Daft Punk, One More Time

here in My Hawk Living Room

— the last time I danced

like I was from Outer Space

was during one month

in The Nova Scotia Hospital

for Those Who don’t know

It’s The Province’s largest mental hospital

re-named The East Coast Forensic Unit

and of that month

I cannot recall a single day

but the day I arrived
