My Earth is a jewel
with Its opalescent sky
& silvery sea
I come to It naturally
as a babe in utero
to dwell in Its paradises
to live off Its swell
to savour all Its antiquities

break
from a dark blue swell
into a white ridge of foam
gliding along the rocky shore
I think of the arms
of Our Galaxy
cradling
All We Are
Our Lives
Our God

I will be embedded
in The Face, The Blue Face
of The Earth
as I gaze over
Its expanse
My Horizon
chewed to The Core

like A Lover

of Me
Speck that It is
I would lay It on My Tongue
& moisten It
with My Lips
I would roll It
over My Gums
& send It toward My Throat
I would consume It
& have It course
through My Veins
like isolated blood
& never through
the finality of
digestion

behind a watery Sky
luminescent behind
the foggy clouds
decking My Horizon
with Silver Grey
& Silver Wash

The Deer here are the colour
of very early Spring
They emerge from the undergrowth
like apparitions materializing
from rounded ears & noses
necks & torsos
heading for the neighbours’ carrots
on high-stepping dainty hooves
pausing only to blend Their buff coats
against a lawn
of very late winter

I watched a society
of starlings
pecking in My Front Yard
while I realized
I am limiting My SELF
with this Second Coming of Christ
notion
and a white vehicle
drove past and scared
the birds away

coalesce
spiralling together
uniting two illuminated Human Beings
against a World
of Chaos

went from Blue
to Grey
& I sat above It
to contemplate

& do You know what
I discovered?
That with My Husband
reading War & Peace
beside Me
I can say anything
in The World
& be heard
