"Good Morning, World!"

THE HAWK BEDROOM 7:40pm

Our Green Bedroom

is like an attic room

cozy under the eaves of the peaked roof-line

It’s been newly floored

with cork IDENTITY SILVER

& newly trimmed in Beauti-Tone

DESIGNER SERIES Stanhope Shore Matte

while I painted two coats

I listened to CJLS

& took My Lunch Break the first day

& A Tea Break the second

Our Colossal Bed is still pulled away

from the west wall

to allow for the remaining installation

of moulding along the baseboard

Our “Always Kiss Me Goodnight” sign

given to Me by Our Real Estate Agent

when We moved in

hangs above the south window

harmonizing with the trim

FORTIFICATION

The Hawk Portico 5:24pm

The Waves are brusque tonight

& the sky is grey

I’m on My Second Beer

after a day of recovering from “My Spell”

in-which I lost My Decisiveness

& other people had to plan for Me

I am not altogether comfortable in These States

luckily They don’t happen often

but They can & do

in the unlikeliest of places

like Sobey’s

or some other zoo

I freeze up

not knowing what to think

or My Thinking’s Hung

temporarily shut down —

the only fortification I respond to

is the Kindness of Others

& I have always been met with Kindness

A BEDROOM 7:40pm

I want My Daddy

to come tuck Me in

— My Real Daddy who wasn’t Real

He’s Dead —

I want My WHB

to tuck Me in

with His Soft Words

& careful careful touch —

I’ve taken My Pills

2 Hours in advance

of Bedtime

BARRINGTON PASSAGE 11:11am

My Search

for a break away cat collar

has landed Me Here

in The Offices of My Husband

& Dr Manel Premachandra

where His Kind Secretary

said She could order on line

I’ve drunk one Boost

& taken two Ativan

I HAVE A REVERENCE FOR LIFE

THE HAWK LIVING ROOM 5:30pm

slumped into My Tomato-coloured Couch

with My Honey Brown Lager

I’m listening to The 70’s

with Charlie Tuna

“I Never Can Say Good-bye”

Sun beams through

The Living Room Window

“She’s A Lady”

belts out from The Hawk Kitchen

We’re having Perogies & beans for supper

& doing nothing

for Canadian Thanksgiving tomorrow

POLENTA

The Hawk Kitchen 4:22pm

I have ready to bake

a pan-load of Polenta

made with twelve de-boned chicken thighs

sprinkled with olive oil & Parmesan cheese

Hunter took a picture of It

out of guilt:

He’s refusing to allow

any spontaneous dinner guests

even though I have asparagus

pan rolls (today’s date)

unopened wine

I wouldn’t hesitate

to ask My Spontaneous Dinner Guests

to bring Dessert

MEASUREMENT

Gold is like The Sun

Silver like The Moon

How They’ll Rise Together

We shall see so soon

PLAY HOUSE

The Hawk Deck 11:10am

I am married to A Very Handsome Doctor

even if He does have some age on Him

It adds to His Allure of Talk

on Occam’s Razor

I live in A Beautiful House By The Sea

& have all the breakfast supplies I need

a basement warehouse of foodstuffs & toilet paper

I have My Mother’s Play House on an island

& My Beautiful Daughter with Her Hot Shot Boyfriend

— He can finance A Mansion at the age of nineteen —

They’re already looking at House Plans

MORNING CHORES

The Tomato-coloured Couch 10:04am

My Husband feeds The Cats

— We have six —

& I clean out The Kitty Litter

every morning

while The Coffee’s on

I pan for Gold

in The Basement

& when I’m done

I play Aquarius

in My Nude Night Gown

emptying the dehumidifier

so Hunter’s 350  Folio Books

don’t get musty

EVOCATION

On McNutt Island

I used to sit in our 3-holer privy

with My Mother

who often rested Her right elbow

on Her thigh

right hand under chin

Left Hand draped across

dangling Her Silver Nugget Ring

I assumed this same position today

with My Left Hand draped

across My Thighs

& I Was My Mother

I looked down to see My Mother’s Ring

& there were My Diamonds —

jolting Me

with crystallizing light

seared into My Brain

OK’d by My Mother
