NO WORK KNITTING

The Hawk Kitchen Outpost 3:52pm

I don’t read any more

& My Idle Hands

are telling Me to take up

a hobby, like knitting

with giant knitting needles

& soft variegated yarn

I could make an Afghan

of no particular pattern

in a flash of leisurely hours

with large loopy-d-loops

& hairy thread

to throw on top of Me

in My Napping Bed

SATURDAY AFTERNOON

The Hawk Kitchen Outpost 3:30pm

I love My Kitchen Outpost

I can sit here as if

on a porch

surrounded on one side

by My Outdoor View

even if Its foggy

I can sit in My Purple Robe

in My Apple-green Chair

with a cat

on The Ottoman

& listen to a distant radio

drinking tea

& texting

DOES SHE OR DOESN’T SHE?

The Hawk Kitchen 7:38pm

The Universe is incubating

in My Red Teflon Frying Pan

I have dished out & up

all I am made of

& now it is up

to the stars

to see if I work

THERE IS NOTHING GREATER THAN THE HUMAN MIND

The Hawk Kitchen 8:30am

I have been wrestling

with God all My Life

finally I am winning

I have taken control

of the biggest force I know

& made Him do

His Dirty Work

for Me

SILVER SHIFT

The Hawk Kitchen 7:53am

The Silver Glare

alerts My Eyes

& shifts to flashes

of White

safe in My Kitchen

with the coffee pot on

I care not

for the rest of The World —

Oh but I do!

SELF-REPRESENTATION

Eliza’s Bathroom 1:38pm

I stand on a mat of Purple

in My Purple accented bath

looking down at My Purple toe nails

& Teal coloured pants

looking from above at My Station

as The 3rd Wife of a successful doctor

The Mother of 2.4 Children I love

fiercely

A Revolutionary of Vision

an artist of words

DINNER WITH MY HUSBAND

The Hawk Kitchen 6:41pm

There’s nothing delicate

about Me —

I talk with My Mouth Full

I wipe My Hands on My Pants

I dress in Fiery Reds

& Elevate My Voice

so that even The Deaf can hear

Me

for A Change

SUPPER TIME SKY

The Hawk Kitchen Outpost 6:15pm

The Sky is a watercolour wash —

have I said that before?

Probably — One Stripe

is the same as The Ocean

& so includes Itself

as a partition

of liquid cloud

ART FOR ART’S SAKE

The Hawk Kitchen 2:19pm

I am seeing The Colours

of Flaming June*

out on the highway

in scraps of florescent rope

in the roses and carnations from My Children

in My Frying Pan

of green and orange peppers

and in My Cold Weather Wear

warning of My Existence

*Frederic Leighton 1895

OPEN VIEW

The Hawk Kitchen Outpost 7:09pm

The Sky looks painted tonight

like a scenic background

for a movie about

The Occupants of a house

on a rolling seaside

& how They all

fell in love

one by one

with Each Other

& then with

Themselves
