After a dream 2 mornings ago

reluctantly kissing a crook

on a slippery slope

in the rain, last night

Eye had a DOOZY of A DREAM:

I finally HAD HIM,  My DHW

in the single bed of My Mother’s Room

in Jordan Bay*

I held Him

& We kissed for the first time.

It was a DOOZY of a kiss

w tongues & limbs & hands

— We were both so happy —

then in a Hotel Restaurant/bar

David had his wallet open

spilling bright green Scottish Bills

on the floor

& I said, “I’ll check

if this is an International Hotel

& if they take Scottish currency.”

2 hear The Sea & See It Sparkle

2 feel The Bug-free Breeze

(except for the odd fly who might get in the kitchen)

2 languish in A Leopard-spotted Night Shirt

(appreciated once by a non-lover)

amongst The Newly Potted Blossoms

of A Planter’s Delight

while The Scraggly Apple accommodates

The Occasional Blue Jay —

now 2 drink Peppermint Tea

w/ Mexican Honey

in M(eye) Surprisingly Comfortable Folding Chair of slatted wood

Yesterday Eye bought a six-pack

of Red Petunias on sale

(it was the last pack @ Wilson’s

& M(eye) 1st ever purchase

of Petunias 2 plant)

2 go in a squarish concrete planter

hidden under M(eye) Deck

& completely forgotten

(Eye have no recollection of how or where

such a relic came into M(eye) Possession)

so Eye put driveway gravel

into its non-draining bottom

& filled it half-way

w/ scrambled dirt from M(eye) vacant flower bed

(vacant except for Poppies now)

& carefully extracted the rooted red blooms

nestling each pod

carefully into the old concrete hold

& VOILA!!

It came 2 LIFE —

The Red of The Petunias

is not the same Red

as M(eye) plastic pot of Geraniums

set upon The Glass-topped Table

taking in direct morning sun —

The Petunias now gracing

the cat-scratched post by the steps

are an Orange-y Red

as opposed 2 The Fuscia Red

of The Geraniums —

so now Eye have 2 Shades

2 compare

& neither is Blood-red —

That Colour has no place

out here on M(eye) Weathered Deck

(while Eye steep M(eye) 3rd Cup of Tea

& wait for 9:11

2 drink It…)

This evening Eye visited

Astro’s Grave in Port Clyde

@ M(eye) Kids’ Grandparents’

House on the chopping block

where The Bones of Astro remain

from when He died suddenly

& was buried by Eliza

on October 13th, 2022 —

Eye have not visited

His Grave since —

(not w/ any meaning in M(eye) Heart)

& Eye wasn’t sure It could be found —

Butt Eliza knew where It was

& directed Me over the phone —

Eye found It smaller than Eye remembered —

w/ only a few stones

marking the pit She dug & filled

that fateful day almost 3 years ago

underneath a large spruce

which has since broken in half —

Eye think now Eye will place Astro’s black stone…

for M(eye) Deck —

so Eye think Eye will plant

Yellow Begonias for Him

& put The Lid into A Painting
