My Special Gull
by Joanna Gilman Hyde
Eye still have Gully
fed on dry cat food
& infrequent pieces of bacon
He meanders around the cats
unafraid
on the deck
& flies off somewhere
w/ the regular gulls

So nice that you have a relationship with a wild little being. I had that for a couple of seasons with my friend Baby Buck. He’s since gone wild when he became a 6 point stag and found is calling last autumn’s rutting season.
Hi Lisa so delighted you are reading my work and Eye appreciate your comments very much. My blog has changed its format for some unknown reason and its not as easy for me to reply to comments.
I’m trying to go back and read your older posts every few days with my morning coffee. I’m drawn to your poems that describe the scenic beauty around where you live, because it’s in my nature. They are like painting in word. However I also enjoy reading your more emotional poetry and learning how you see and deal with anger, sadness, amusement and what perplexes you. Hope you are enjoying the summer.-Lisa
