"Good Morning, World!"

Month: June, 2016

THE ROOSTER

The Hawk Deck 8:40am

In the early to mid morning

the domestic call of The Rooster

cackles through The Scrub Spruce

from one road over

& delights My Humour mixed

with the wild clucking

of Our Local Bird Life

I so dearly love

ALL IS BRIGHT

The Hawk Kitchen Outpost 6:20am

I Love The Sun

filling My Kitchen

accompanying the coffee pot

bringing the bird song in

through the screened

outpost window

& filling My Life

POP UP

The Hawk Corner Room 5:45am

I watched The Sun Rise

first a golden glimmer —

then it popped up

rising faster

than it seemed to go down last night

I am off the anti-psychotic medication

I took to sleep for twenty-odd years

& am waking earlier

but feeling

great

HARK!!

The East Side of The Hawk House 10:56am

EYE have heard The Call

of The Brown-headed Cow Bird

perched upon M(EYE) car mirror

He is the very essence

of falling droplets

and His Liquid Melody

plop plop

excuses His Actions!!

THIS MORNING

The Hawk Portico 6:11am

The tail ends

of a Magnificent Double Rainbow

grace The Cape

at the crack of dawn

this morning

I saw It in Its Full Glory

at 5:44am

& texted all My Friends

COLONIES

The Hawk Exercise Room Window 10:47am

Today before My Row

I opened the Hawk Exercise Room Window

finding two galactic

Spider Hatchings

— gold They are —

I am with Them

after My Row

One on the outside of the little screen

One on the inside

HORIZON STOP GAP

The Hawk Kitchen Outpost 7:58am

The thinnest strip of Silver

sets My North Eastern View

The Horizon line it designates —

starting at the scrub spruce

travelling to a brown roof top

where the center of The Horizon

turns dark grey

travelling to the second roof top

and beyond to My Neighbour’s

leafy tree

BEYOND THE ISLANDS

The Hawk West Desk Window 7:44pm

Hark — there’s a Silver Streak

along the Western Horizon

of My Evening View

I am rewarded

from a day of grey

to the embarkment

of broken cloud

and layered sun

THE CHILD’S BED

The Hawk Kitchen Outpost 10:22am

Last Night M(EYE) Husband

had to come into Eliza’s Room

to kiss Me Good-night —

He remarked that I looked

so small

tucked into

Her Big High Bed

DEPARTURE

The Hawk Kitchen Outpost 9:55am

EYE am The Artist

standing at My Door

waving Good-bye to My Husband

dressed in My Thick Grey Robe

the substance of The Sky

today

on a day

when anything can happen
